Upscale Jersey BYOB Alphabet Soup (34 W. Merchant St., Audubon, N.J.; 856.310.0605), with its decor done in a letters motif, is scheduled to reopen Friday, September 8 by offering a nine-course tasting menu of its French-influenced American cuisine, consisting of five courses, a palette cleanser, a cheese course and two sweet courses for $100. Soup, which will only be open to the public on Friday and Saturday nights, is operated by Jayson Grossberg, who trained under famous chef Bobby Flay at Mesa Grill and Bolo in New York City. "I create dishes that are simple, but with a twist - pure, but fun," Grossberg said via a release. "I accentuate the main ingredient without overpowering it. I want diners to taste the freshness and fullness of each ingredient." - Joe Student, Philly Edge Food
